Select a bounded task
Map the current work and choose a task with recognisable inputs and outputs. A meeting summary should preserve decisions, questions and next steps. Specify who uses the result and what happens if it is wrong. This separates convenient assistance from an action with material commercial consequences. As the impact of an error increases, so does the need for validation and a clear route to a person who can exercise judgement.
Evaluate sources and outputs
Determine which information may enter the workflow and check access and usage conditions within the organisation. AI can produce plausible statements that do not match the available facts. Test familiar cases and difficult situations, including incomplete information and ambiguous requests. Compare outputs against written criteria and inspect concrete examples. An impressive demonstration does not establish suitability for the range of situations the workflow will encounter in day-to-day sales activity.
Design an operation that can be reviewed
Begin with limited scope and oversight suited to the task. Record failures, corrections and uncertainties to identify where changes are required. Define when the workflow should stop, request approval or hand over the case. Monitor changes to sources and tools as well as outputs. Assign an owner and a recovery path, so an error does not continue spreading through the commercial process. Expansion should follow evidence from the operation rather than confidence in a demonstration.
